Paul Troyano

Woodworking Artist, Furniture Maker Paul Troyano is a  local woodworking artist who has been making furniture for over 20 years.

Paul's furniture has a naturalistic style. He uses native  woods such as pecan, cypress, cedar and mulberry because they contain a wide range of beauty andworkability. They are also valuable resources which are important to be utilized.

Paul's "Tree Tables"  feature table tops suspended by legs shaped, sculpted and bent to imitate movement found in nature. Whether turning bowls or creating  furniture, he prefers to use wood from local trees that have been taken  down, or from certified forests, which replant with the ecosystem in  mind.

Paul is a member of The Furniture Society, the American  Association of Woodturners,  American Craft Council ,Louisiana Crafts Guild and Green America.

Paul's  "Tree Tables" were featured in a 2001 article by Lee Cutrone in the  Gambit Weekly.Paul's work has been on display at local festivals, markets and galleries including the Arts Market at Palmer Park, Harrison Marketplace, Gentilly Fest, Holiday Home Tour and Ariodante Contemporary Craft Gallery.
