Robere Lord, a self taught New Orleans based artist employs multiple colors and dimensions in his work.
Using abstract mirror images on a canvas, Lord embraces color and motion in a composition that is in fact much deeper and more complex than what seems apparent at first glance.
His paintings place the viewer before a metaphorical reflection of their inner selves as each person's unique interpretation of the abstract imagery in the painting is a reflection of their own pre-existing thoughts and ideas.
Each painting presents us with multiple images and perspectives contained in a single composition. From one perspective we see certain images, while refocusing on other colors or what we originally considered negative space or looking at the same work from a different orientation reveals a whole new character contained in the same piece of work.
Every look reveals a new image, a new layer of the same composition that can be as simple or complex as the viewer’s interpretation allows.
