Women are my subject. Only portrayed when they strip themselves from witnesses, judges and competitors. Usually gloomy, worried and intimate in company of other women with whom they have bonded.
My women are not struggling to empower themselves. They know the meaning of hindrances, isolation and ambivalence.
The dark depth of women had always immensely attracted me.
Such sadness could equally be scripted in her, by nature, by her expected role or as the result of the unfair and violent behavior practiced against her from the beginning of our civilizations.
Please join us for our opening receptions during an
art walk on the first Saturday of every month
in the New Orleans Arts District from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Our current hours are Mondays - Saturday 10 AM - 5 PM or by appointment.
