My desire for creating started when I was a kid. I
loved transforming a piece of clothing into something else; a pair of
jeans into a skirt.... Clothing design was my career of choice after
graduating from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, then I
realized that what I really loved was adding something a little
different to simple designs. After re-evaluating I decided jewelry was
the perfect addition to a beautiful gown or jeans and t-shirt. And so
my journey in jewelry design began.
I started by teaching myself and moved on to take several classes to
develop different techniques to create my little sculptures. That is
how I see my jewelry; little sculptures of nature. My style is organic
using mixed metals and semi-precious stones to recreate an image of
nature. The designs are idealistic, very rarely realistic. The beauty
of flower can be seen differently depending on who is looking at it and
at what angle. It may remind us of something beautiful in our own
lives. That's what I try to accomplish with my jewelry. A symbol or
reminder of something beautiful that nature has blessed us with.
